Many customers use EZProxy and the setup is publicly available. We recommend you check out the OCLC Stanza for SpringerLink for the most up to date information.
How should I configure EZProxy?
SpringerLink recommends using version 6.x or the most recent version of EZproxy along with this SSL Configuration and the following database stanza in both config.txt file and ezproxy.cfg.
Innovative WAM Setup:
The following URLs should be used when configuring WAM
If you are recognized by Springerlink but receive a redirect error when trying to download an article please be sure the following is in your definition table. This is especially true if you are using Innovative's WAM proxy service.
In addition, please check the following settings:
2. Cookie size: Some proxies also block cookies above a certain size, which may cause problems as well. Check that the proxy is not doing this. (See, for example,http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5016294/proxy-server-breaking-ajax-website-on-internal-network)
3. Encoded URLs: If pdf links are found not to work, be sure the proxy is configured to encode slashes in URLs. In EZProxy, to accept encoded URLs, the customers' starting point URL(s) that point to SpringerLink content should be changed so that the URL includes "?qurl" instead of "?url".
If you are facing any problems configuring your setup, we strongly advise contacting your proxy vendor directly. For EZProxy, that is firstname.lastname@example.org. For Innovative's WAM proxy, try email@example.com.
