Book authors, book editors, chapter authors and co-authors, journal article authors, Editors-in-Chief, and Editorial Board Members are entitled to purchase Springer Nature books — print and electronic versions — at a special discount.
- Author discounts apply exclusively to book purchases. Journal subscriptions and single-issue journal purchases are not eligible for author discounts.
- The discount is intended for individual use only and remains valid for the author's lifetime.
- In many cases, the author discount can be combined with other promotions, allowing customers to benefit from additional special offers. However, 50% discount campaigns are excluded. Please refer to the terms and conditions of each coupon for details.
- An author discount is available only when the purchase is made directly by the author, in the author's name, and using the author's billing address. Purchases made in the name of an institution or company are not eligible, as the institution or company is considered a separate legal entity.
- Author purchases are not eligible for tax-exempt status, even if the author's institution or company is tax-exempt. Authors are classified as individuals, and individuals are generally not exempt from applicable taxes. Tax-exempt certificates issued to organizations cannot be applied to author orders. Sales tax or other applicable taxes will be charged where required.
- The quantity of books ordered must be consistent with normal personal use. Resale of books purchased using the author discount is not permitted.
