Copyright Clearance Center’s RightsLink® service makes it faster and easier to secure permission for the reuse of Springer content to be published in a journal (print/online), book (hardcopy or electronic), course pack, e-reserve, doctoral thesis, research project, magazine, newsletter, directory, newspaper, brochure/pamphlet, presentation, photocopies/hand-outs, on a website, or CD-ROM/DVD.
To use this service:
- Visit Springer Nature Link or Nature.com and locate the desired article or book chapter that contains the material you wish to reuse.
- Then go to the article or chapter abstract and click on “Reprints & Permissions" which can be located in the "About this article" section at the end of the article OR end of the chapter. This will open open the order entry page from which you can request permission;
- Select the way you would like to reuse the content;
- Create an account if you haven’t already and accept the terms and conditions.

Note: If you are the editor, author, or contributor of a new work/chapter/article, please select "Publisher" as the Requestor Type. After that you can select your publisher from the list. In case your publisher's name is not listed, please select "Not listed below" and then proceed with the further specifications.
In case, if there is no "Reprints and Permissions" link available on the article page, this may indicate that the journal is owned by a scholarly society or another partner organization, and Springer Nature does not hold the copyright for the content. In these cases, permission requests are typically managed directly by the copyright holder. We kindly recommend referring to the "Societies and Partnerships" section on the journal's homepage and contacting the relevant society or organization directly to inquire about permissions.
