Springer Nature understands that tax-exempt organizations and institutions in the USA may need VAT removed from their APC invoices. To request VAT removal:
- Request an invoice or pay online during Next steps for publishing your article (after acceptance). If you select an offline invoice, an admin fee of 75 USD/55 EUR/50 GBP is charged for most journals.
- Send us your invoice and tax exemption certificate through Contact Publishing Support.
- If approved, our team will manually process an invoice correction to remove the tax. If you have paid online, we will then refund the amount overpaid.
